RSL Carmine

A groove box that writes the drums with you.

Pick a style, set the feel and Carmine writes boom bap, bounce or trap drums across eight lanes, on the timing grid of a classic 90s hardware sampler. Shuffle until it hits, lock what you love, then drag it out as MIDI, stems or a WAV loop.

Coming soon RSL Carmine interface: pattern controls, an eight-lane drum sequence, the selected sound and the output stage

How it writes

Seven steps.
One pocket.

The faceplate runs left to right and top to bottom, from the style you pick to the file you drag out. Every idea is kept, so nothing you shuffle past is lost.

  1. Generation

BOOM BAP · BOUNCE · TRAP

Pick the style Carmine writes in.

  2. Feel

    AUTO

The pocket inside the style. AUTO picks one for every pattern.

  3. Shuffle

    SHUFFLE · VARY

A new pattern, or small changes to this one. The last 64 ideas are one arrow key away.

  4. Edit

    8 LANES

Add, remove and shape hits and rolls across up to 32 bars. Lock a lane to keep it through every shuffle.

  5. Sound

    YOUR KIT

Drop your own samples on any lane, or a whole kit anywhere on the plugin.

  6. Output stage

    CIRCUIT

Drive and output through a vintage sampler output stage, with auto gain.

  7. Export

    MIDI · STEMS · WAV

Drag the drums into your DAW as MIDI, per-lane stems or a rendered loop.

Eight lanes, one look.Kick, snare, clap, two hats, open hat and two percs, each with mute, solo, lock and its own sound. Up to 32 bars, with rolls and per-hit shaping.

An output stage with character.DRIVE and OUTPUT through a vintage sampler output circuit, with AUTO GAIN to keep levels honest.

Out in one drag.DRUMS MIDI, STEMS or a WAV LOOP, straight onto a track in your DAW.

Drums that sit in the pocket before you touch a single step.
